Welcome to my English Learning Blog

My Introduction Welcome to my English blog. My name is Juan, and I'm from Bogotá. I created this blog to document my English learning process and share my progress with others who are also looking to improve their English. Why did I start learning English? Because I believe it opens many doors. It helps me in my professional life, allows me to enjoy movies and music without subtitles, and connects me with people from all over the world. This blog reflects my journey: my challenges, my small achievements, and everything I learn along the way. I'll talk about my daily life, my family, my studies, my opinions, current events, and even more in-depth topics. All this while practicing my writing. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope we can learn and improve together!

My Family, Traditions, and Hobbies

My Family, Traditions, and Hobbies  One of the things I enjoy most in life is spending time with my family. Family is very important to me, and we love sharing great moments together, especially on weekends. We talk about our week, share meals, and come up with something fun to do together. My favorite hobby is playing the piano. I started learning a few years ago, and now I enjoy playing songs in English. Singing in English helps me improve my pronunciation and rhythm. I also like watching TV series in English. It's a fun way to learn new vocabulary while doing something I enjoy. My family and my hobbies are a great motivation for me to keep learning English.

How English Helps Me at Work and in My Travel Dreams

English is becoming increasingly important in my professional life. At work, I sometimes need to read documents in English, participate in meetings with international clients, or prepare presentations. I also dream of traveling. I would love to visit many places around the world, although I would first explore my own country. Knowing English gives me the confidence to travel alone and communicate with people from different cultures. Presentación sitio turístico Last year, I practiced my English during a job interview with a foreign company. Although I was nervous, I was able to express my ideas clearly. That experience motivated me to continue studying every day. Interview in English For me, English is not just a language; it's a tool that connects my current job with my future adventures.

Why I Read News in English – Current Events and Vocabulary

Throughout my learning process, I've chosen to use my own learning methods. One of the best ways I've found to improve my English is to read the news in English every day. It helps me learn new vocabulary and understand how the world is changing. Currently, I follow topics like climate change, technology (especially artificial intelligence), and important events in Latin America. Reading about these topics in English gives me a broader perspective. For example, last week I read an article about the future of electric cars. I learned words like "sustainable," "emissions," and "renewable energy." It was challenging, but very useful. I recommend starting with simple websites like BBC Learning English or News in Levels. They have news adapted for English learners.

Critical Thinking and Media Literacy in the Digital Age

Critical Thinking and Media Literacy (Required) In today's world, we receive a huge amount of information daily through social media. Therefore, it is essential to develop critical thinking and media literacy. Media literacy involves being able to analyze the information we see: Who wrote it? Is the source reliable? Is there evidence, or is it just an opinion? Are they trying to manipulate our emotions? I have learned that not everything we read is true. Fake news spreads very quickly, especially during elections or crises. Practicing English helps me read international sources and compare different points of view. Developing these skills is important not only for learning English but also for making better decisions in life.

Crime and Punishment (Mandatory)

Crime and Punishment (Required) My Reflections on Crime and Punishment The topic of crime and punishment is complex but very important. In my opinion, crimes must be punished because society needs justice and order. When people break the law, there must be consequences. However, I also believe that rehabilitation is necessary. Many people commit crimes due to difficult situations such as poverty, lack of education, or family problems. The justice system should not only punish but also help people reintegrate into society. Reading articles in English on this topic has helped me understand different approaches. Some countries focus more on punishment, while others invest in education and social programs. What do you think? Is it better to focus on punishment or prevention?
